Rare ScratchTheRat Posted August 7, 2021 #1 Ā Share Posted August 7, 2021 Hey there! I'm travelling to Italy from the UK (direct flight) for a cruise (that leaves Italy for Croatia), if I am not staying in Italy, do I need to quarantine or do I class as transiting and therefore exempt? Ā The rules say there is an exemption for those transiting Italy in a private vehicle and leaving within 36 hours, which I would be. Hmm!
Rare Harters Posted August 7, 2021 #2 Ā Share Posted August 7, 2021 Well, I suppose if Italy's rules provide an exemption as you indicate, then you're presumably exempt (assuming your transit from airport to ship is in whatever they define as a "private vehicle"). Ā If it was me, I would be asking the cruise line as, presumably, most passengers will not be Italians so will be similarly arriving in the country from other countries
Rare ScratchTheRat Posted August 7, 2021 Author #3 Ā Share Posted August 7, 2021 It's just clarification I need on whether flying into Rome THEN getting a private vehicle counts or if I have to enter the county via vehicle.
CruisinGirl777 Posted September 16, 2021 #4 Ā Share Posted September 16, 2021 I am curious about this too. I am planning to book for next week but need to confirm if the 5-day quarantine applies or if it is less than 36hrs to cruise departure, can this be considered transit. Maybe I should fly in somewhere else, rent a car and drive in private vehicle?!š¤
