Falmouth beach close to port

Hi can anyone recommend a beach close to port. As well, approximate taxi fare? Are there shuttles at the port to go to the beach.

i am going with celebrity and they have cancelled their beach break.

From the Falmouth cruise pier, stay to the left as you exit and turn into the lane along the marina slips.  Go right along the line of boats and you will come to a gate going out to the beach right there on the bay.  There is usually a guard at the gate charging a few dollars per person to use the beach.  There is a beach bar 100-150 yards down the beach where you can rent lounge chairs with pads pretty cheaply and the beer is cold.  It's not the best beach to get into the water, but it may be better at the far end near the fancy resort.  For a sunbathing, beer sipping, read a book, throw a frisbee kind of beach break, it's cheap and no taxis to worry about.

Do you really turn left out of the cruise area?  I do not see anything that direction.
