Anyone have feedback on the current cost of hiring a taxi driver for the day to explore the East Side? I have done it several times in the past for around $80 US but not sure if that is clsoe to the going rate currently. I have rented a car on my own as well but want to have some cervesas this trip.

If my memory is correct from a year ago...taxis are priced very similar to ride share in this market. Took Uber INTO the port ( and got lucky wheny the driver was "allowed" into the main drive but a taxi back so we did not have to make the walk with a bunch of luggage.

Balconay upgrade with $500 OBC seemed awesome and once MSC status matched me to Gold from Carnival Platinum I booked. Can anyone tell me where I might find verification that the $50 Voyager Silver and above OBC is in my booking? I can see the $500 Balcony OBC but not the Voyager OBCs (mine and my wife's).

UPDATE on status match. Submitted mine on Friday around 6 pm and received approval he following Saturday morning. Carnival Platinum mapped to MSC Gold at 4300 points.

Great information. I am in process of booking the Mervaglia as well so this is all helpful. Just submitted the online status match form for Carnival Platinum and want to make sure that goes through before proceeding and see where that maps to the Voyager tiers. It does appear that I can't setup a Voyager account if I have not sailed MSC before or have an active booking?

Anyone have ideas on what the current expectation is to rent a taxi driver for the day to hit Manawakie sloth and monkey park, West End, water taxi to West Bay and back to Mahogany Bay hitting any truly local spot(s) along the way? for a sanck It seem slike in previous years it was around $80 plus a big tip?
