Plapper2000 Posted September 12, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2021 Trip out of Galveston went well. Most passengers wore masks when indoors. Passengers were required to wear them while getting food, in the casino, the shows. I can think of only a few times someone wasn't wearing a mask. Total of 2,685 passengers. 3,954 capacity. 67% They brought some folks on from the Carnival Glory from New Orleans that was cancelled due to Ida. That may have helped get us to 67%. Masks are definitely required in the ports of Belize and Cozumel. Masks weren't really worn at the beach in Mahogany Bay in Honduras, because everyone was essentially outside. They were required when on the walking paths and in the shopping area. Did hear an urban legend about a passenger that got a $500 fine in Belize for refusing to wear a mask. Sounded legit, from a first hand witness. While in Cozumel, we noticed all the locals wearing masks. Even when they were riding their motor scooters. Nice trip. Mask hint: get a mask lanyard. It's nice to just drop your mask to your chest when you drink or eat, without having to lay it down or stuff it in a pocket.

Were they required just walking through the promenade on the ship? They weren't on Mardi Gras. Edited September 12, 2021 by Saint Greg
Plapper2000 Posted September 12, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted September 12, 2021 Yes, the walking paths and around the shopping area in Mahogany bay. I don't think the Promenade was "policed" like the food areas, casino, shows, but I think folks just wore them in most areas. Also, it was 2,865 passengers or 72%. I switched the 8 and the 6. I was tired last night after our return.
hayesktrm Posted September 13, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2021 I was on this cruise. It was so much fun. I heard about some rude passengers, but I didn't experience that at any time. We all wore masks when required (for the most part) and people weren't upset about it. A bit spoiled by the number of people on board. It was amazing on the Serenity Deck. Hot tubs and pools were still full, however.

furf_n_slo Posted September 13, 2021 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2021 I'm so excited to go soon!! Do you happen to remember which nights were the formal nights? And if they were doing an early comedy show? We have late seating and my boys were wanting to see a comedy show (they can't do the 18+ late show). Thank you! arkaine23 Posted September 13, 2021 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2021 I was on the week before. We had 2533 passengers. Most people wore masks in all the indoor areas of the ship besides their rooms. Period. Keep in mind this ship's crew had a fairly big C-19 outbreak in July. Follow the rules and keep them safe. Monday and Thursday were formal nights. There were early/PG comedy shows. 2
LHARTWICK Posted September 13, 2021 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2021 Thanks to the OP for this post. We were scheduled to be on this cruise but cancelled due to testing logistics. We ended up taking a land vacay instead, which turned out to be SO MUCH FUN!! Glad OP had an enjoyable cruise!
dude_hdt Posted September 13, 2021 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2021 Thanks for the quick report. Also on for 10/2. Masks outdoors on the island seems weird but the locals get to make their own rules. Just happy to be (about to be) sailing again.
