Miami hotels with airport and cruise port shuttles.

Pre-virus a few hotels near the MIA airport offered both airport and port shuttles - Embassy Suites MIA, La Quinta East and Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon were most often mentioned - you will need to call to see if they still offer port shuttles with the limited cruising schedule currently being run. Of the 3 I would choose to stay in the Blue Lagoon area with a nearby strip mall offering shopping and various dining options.  Other hotels near MIA may offer a shuttle service to the port for a fee (usually about $10-12+ per person), or you can use a taxi for about $30+ on the meter.

Staying near the airport is okay if you are arriving late and just want a bed, but you will not get to see/experience any of Miami and your dining options will be limited.  Better option IMHO is to stay downtown and figure out your own transport.  Hampton Inn and the Hyatt (both in the Mary Brickell area), Intercontinental, Doubletree and various Marriott options are often suggested on this board - all with lots of local dining/shopping options nearby.

Taxi from MIA to downtown hotels will run about $28-30 and another $15+ cab ride will get you to the port the next day.  Uber or Lyft from MIA to downtown will cost about $20 and anther $10+ ride will get you to POM in the morning.  Download the apps, set up your accounts (I check both Uber and Lyft to see who has drivers close to me and compare costs), and watch a couple of You Tube videos if you need to -- I have just about given up on taxis!

Have a great cruise! 😎

We used the Embassy Suites MIA shuttle about a month ago (and have used it before) and it is a smooth process.  Sign up with the Concierge for a particular time (they run 2-3 shuttles depending on how many people need them about an hour apart.  Cost is $10pp paid to driver.  Luggage goes into a trailer for the shuttle and the concierge makes sure you get on the one you booked.  Takes about a half hour to get to port.

By the way, the free Embassy van from the airport supposedly runs on the hour and half hour (web site has pickup locations).  Take a local cab - flat rate of $14 to the hotel and you don't have to wait for it.  Hotel has good breakfast and the bar has a great steak/fries for $34 that we split for dinner.  Pizza looks good but have had the steak several times and we really like it.

Embassy Suites has a reception each evening with drinks and light snacks.  Did you by any chance notice what food was offered?  Also did you have any trouble getting the time you wanted for the cruise shuttle?
