Cost of Specialty Dining

Is it cheaper to book onboard or online pre cruise?   I was thinking of trying the steakhouse on Apex.   We tried the Tuscan years ago and fell in love and Qsine  Le Petit Chef....they had a special where we could book half price if we booked first day.       We generally don't go to them since the food is great in dining room but I want something special, but $55/pp plus added Grat is a bit much since I am paying through the nose for flights and hotel...........covid price increase is ridiculous..

first night special was still offered even on our July cruise.  Tables were also not all full, but no additional reservations taken, since staff was cut in half.

In general you'll get a better price onboard especially if they need to fill the tables. We got Tuscan Grill for $40 each and gratuities are included.
