These photos and information are from the New York to Los Angeles portion of the 2006 World Cruise on the Queen Elizabeth 2.

Thanks for sharing your photos....they were fantastic! You never think of the QE2 as an old ship or as getting old since she always looks so good from a distance...great traditional lines, sleek and elegant!

 

However, there are some of your photos that remind me that she is now an old lady...low ceilings, many support columns and beams all over the place, the small theatre and the cabin bathroom looks like it has not been update since the ship was launched. In many ways, your QE2 photos remind me a lot of that other classic line the Norway / France that is now sitting in limbo in the far east with an unknown fate due to asbestos.

 

I think Cunard should sink some serious bucks into QE2 and rebuild her...
