Best Recommended Public Beach in Aruba with some Shade

We will be in Aruba in late December, cruise ship port. Looking for recommendation to get to a beautiful beach to enjoy the water, snorkeling but have some shaded areas as well went not in the water. Food & Drink choices too. We don't like to take ship excursions, too expensive. Is it better to rent a car for the day to drive to the different beaches or use public transport? We have a full day in Aruba 8A - 11P
