Rare vadersprincess12 Posted November 28, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2021 Hello ~ has anyone taken a Carnival cruise from a land-based casino offer? I'm interested in understanding how it works. I have been getting offers directly through Carnival in my email but just go a card from a local casino to receive a "free" cruise for two. I know that nothing is free and we would be responsible for port charges and taxes. I'm interested in knowing if getting an offer like this has a daily "administrative fee" attached; NCL does charge $20 per person, per day for these types of cruises. Also interested to know if anyone has done this but upgraded their cabin. I know most of these are for inside cabins. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. Cuedon Posted November 28, 2021 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2021 Princess and HAL, both under the CCL corporate umbrella, didn't charge anything extra on any cruises in the last two months. We were only responsible for taxes, port fees, and a larger-than-normal deposit (200$/pp on Princess, don't remember HAL) that gets returned as OBC. One of the reasons why I stopped going with NCL was they charged stupidly high fees, a few years back-- one time up to 70% of the fare price! dbrown84 Posted January 8, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2022 do carnival offer free drinks in the casino? I've scheduled to pick up a Carnival cert next Saturday. All of my previous cruises have been on NCL (casino comps). Yes, they do charge $20 per day in addition to the taxes and port fees. At least they do offer free drinks while in the casino
