Sorry to hear that. There's no reason for you to have done so. (I live in SF).
Our crime rate is low and lower probably from when you remember its "former good self."

But you'll believe what you see on Fox News, so nothing I say will make a difference. Enjoy your cruise from higher crime rate cities like Miami.

I'll add that the 2.5 miles to the marina "straight" - its not straight unless  you can walk through hills 🙂

 

Walking along the waterfront is fine if you are able - perhaps walk one way and take a taxi/uber back.

Try this idea by CA-Oenophile on the October 31st cruise.  I tried to reach him for his consent and didn't hear back, but since this is a public Forum, and I am giving him credit, here goes.  I hope I'm not crossing any lines.

Go to page 30, posts 742 and 746.  I think that he came up with a really nice self tour.  Post 746 is a couple of ideas I added that he liked.
