Rare pinotlover Posted December 17, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2021 Currently considering several options for flying to Europe next Fall for a cruise. Via United the option of utilizing Air Canada flight, for a BC class ticket, can save us $1K each. A chunk of change! We have flown Air Canada on European routes before. That is not the question. Has anyone flown these routes, from the States, recently and can discuss any hoops the Canadians put you through just to transit their country? We have friends that own property in Cape Breton and they went through a world of hoops to visit their property this summer. With a six hour layover in Toronto, I’m not seeing much difference in protocols just to transit. Anyone have recent experience on this issue? Rare FlyerTalker Posted December 18, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2021 Do you really think that "recent experience" is going to translate into what the requirements will be next fall? Or even next month. But, if you have that much faith in bureaucratic consistency....
CaptFantastic Posted January 1, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2022 This appears to be the latest, but it was updated in October so who knows for sure. It looks like there aren’t many hoops, as long as you can stay in the secure area and are there less than 24 hours. https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/border#shr-pg-pnlShrPg
