Getaway already docked in Miami

Anyone know why the getaway is docked in Miami a day early? It was on a transatlantic that was supposed to arrive tomorrow and then start a 5 day cruise.

The Getaway “arrives” in Miami tomorrow.

“In order for the ship to enter the United States and meet all necessary requirements and inspections mandated by the United States Coast Guard, Customs and Border Patrol, and the Department of Health and Human Services, the above itinerary has been changed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

 

Please note that you must remain on board during the ship's layover in Miami and cannot disembark until December 22, 2021. Therefore, all reservations will receive a $150 shipboard credit, which will be reflected in your shipboard account as $75 for the first and second guest in the stateroom. This credit will be automatically posted to your onboard account.”

But they did allow disembark on the 21st.  After the entire ship went through U.S. Customs.  They encouraged it as they said the wait to reboard could be 4  hours.  Major fiasco.
