dabear Posted February 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2006 does anyone know if there is a shuttle or cost of a taxi from Ft Lauderdale airport to port of Miami. We prefer to avoid Miami's airport (lost our luggage there and it's always caotic on weekends). Alternatively, are there car rental agencies that have a dropoff at the port of MIami. joan24 Posted February 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2006 I know that you can arrange for Super Shuttle from fll to the Port of Miami. Yellow Cab charges $4.50 for the first mile and $2.50 per mi. after that. It's about 26 miles to the port. We live in Hollywood so we're just driving and leaving our car at the port garage for ten days. Call one of the rental agencies and ask about a daily or hourly rate and if there is a drop off at the port. I have no idea about that. Have a wonderful cruise. ebrener Posted February 21, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2006 Most agencies have a shuttle from Miami airport to the port, so you can rent it in Fort Lauderdale, return it in Miami, and take their shuttle to the port... brian_uk Posted February 21, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2006 We just used Holland Limo from MIA to Marriott Harbour Beach (about 2 miles from cruise terminal). They are found via google. The cost was $60 plus 20% tip and some other local taxes. Nice Lincoln or Cadillac Cars and really friendly drivers. A regular taxi on same trip cost friends $90 plus tip. dabear Posted February 21, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted February 21, 2006 thanks for the info. If we fly into FLL, we may rent a car and drop it off with an agency that has a free shuttle to the port. The private limo back to Fll is $86.50. A brief review of the flights appears to give us better options unfortunately by flying into Miami(and hope for the best). joan24 Posted February 22, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2006 dabear, Miami really isn't terrible anymore. My daughter just flew out of there last week and she had no problems except for the huge AA terminal--a forever walk. Joan
