San Pedro transportation?

Our Panama Canal cruise will be disembarking in San Pedro and we need to find our way to San Diego afterwards.  Any good ideas?

 

Are there any major car rental agencies that service the port where I could get a one way rental?

We rented a car and got picked up at the ship and drop it at airport next door to San Diego Cruiseport.  

 

You can also take a train to San Diego.

Hertz and Enterprise are walkable from the pier in San Pedro...but both close at noon on Saturday and are closed all day sunday--as are their offices in Downtown Long Beach...So, if your cruise arrives on a Sunday, you may have to Uber to LGB Airport to pick up a car...or LAX--depending on who has one-way rentals available...

 

The train doesn't  go anywhere near the harbor...

Leaving you to find some way to get to an Amtrak station...possibly Anaheim...or to take this complicated route as explained by Google Maps:
