KidS Camp Question....

Neal.... after hours (10pm -3am) babysitting is available in Camp Carnival.

$6.00 for the first child (per hour) and $4.00 for any additional children.

ALso.. there are two nights that the 9-11 group has a party from 10-3. The cost was 26.00 for the night, and they were escorted back to their rooms by the staff.

BTW>> the rates are ProRated by 15minutes.. so if your child is there for 1.75 hours, that is what you pay.

The Camp stays open for late night group babysitting after 10:00. There is an hourly charge. I paid $10 hourly for my two kids and they loved it. Its basically a big slumber party. The little kids would grab a blanket and a pillow, lay down on the floor, watch movies, eat popcorn and pretty soon would fall asleep. I am not sure how they do things with the older kids but mine were 3 and 5, it was wonderful for them.

Totally worth it too!! The kids had a blast!!!! :D

BUT>>

Be warned!

My son was a MESS the next day.... he LOVED it, but was totally pooped the next day. ;)

We decided to have him skip the second party during the week.

Are you saying that they have 2 of these LateNightParties for an 11 yr old?

Are they on nights before a day at sea or before a port day?

I am not sure exactly what nights the parties were on...... but I think they were the same as the formal nights.. the second and 6th night. (not 100% positive on this).

BUT>> there were definately two on our two Triumph Cruises.

SHM.....

The camp usually runs from 9am - noon, 2-5pm, and then again from 7-10pm.

They have tons of activities for that age group - scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, Video Game contests, karaoke, etc.

My kids went in the mornings, and then after dinner. We all had family pool time in the afternoons.

They also take the kids to the shows at night - kids love sitting in special seats reserved just for them... and they love hanging with their new friends.

For Liberty 8-day, the 9-11yr old late night party was scheduled for the night before Nassau. However, it was cancelled since they did not have the minimum of 6 kids sign up. (Note: by the end of the cruise, very few kids were participating in any of the events for this age group). They also had a mini late night party (10-midnight) early in the cruise, but I don't remember which day (it was early in the cruise & not sure if they had it or not--there were only 35 kids in that age group on the cruise and activities never had more than 10 kids).

My son did go one night (before a sea day) from 10-11:30pm. It was one of the few times he could use the PlayStations so he was a happy camper.

You can look at my Liberty 8-day Eastern Car. Feb.4-11 posting to see comments about Camp Carnival. Basically says that Camp Carnival was my only disappointment on the Liberty. Activities for 9-11 were not very good/creative. We enjoyed our cruise, but were disappointed with activities for our 10-yr-old son.

He can pick and chose what activiities he wants to do. Camp is not a mandatory requirement that he MUSt go to all available hours.

at 11 he can sign himself in and out.
