Beach day

Looking for ideas for beach day. We want chairs,  some shade,  bathroom and food and drinks. We aren't snorkeling. Do we need to book at a resort or can we just show up and find a place.

If you are docking at Mahogany Bay, there is a beach as part of the cruise port. 

 

If you are docking in Coxen Hole, the worry becomes affordable transportation. I generally reccommed sorting a resort day pass with transport so you are not scrambling at the end of the day for a taxi who knows you have to be back at the ship. 

 

If you are hiring a driver, transport is not a worry. Half Moon Bay is easy to access because it is in the village of West End. If going to West Bay Beach one need either take a water taxi from West End or access via the road behind Bananarama. You can walk the beach to decide where you wish to relax, not all the places on West Bay offer day passes. 

 

The Tabyana Excursion from the ship is also an option, it is on part of West Bay Beach.

If you hire a driver and have time....ya might  have your driver drop you in West End for a wander before taking the water taxi to West Bay.  Your driver could collect you in West Bay, if both you and the driver have WhatsApp, you could ring over wifi for free.  Or just set a place to meet. Or you could flip flop, beach first and lunch in West End.
