Cunard Cruiser Posted February 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2006 With the hot topic of P&O selling their Port Management, brought to my mind that P&O cruise line is owned by Carnival (which also owns Cunard). I wonder if Carnival owns any interest in the portion of P&O being sold.
dougnewmanatsea Posted February 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2006 They have nothing to do with each other. The only connection between P&O Steam Navigation and Carnival is that P&O's Chairman, Sir John Parker, is a non-executive director of Carnival Corporation and Carnival plc. P&O Steam Navigation spun off their cruise business into an independent company, P&O Princess Cruises plc, in 2000. This merged with Carnival Corporation and became Carnival plc in 2004. P&O Steam Navigation are now being taken over by DP World. Their remaining business are P&O Ports (the reason why DP World are buying P&O) and P&O Ferries.
