Is it possible to pay money into your onboard account before you leave please?

Not that I know of.

 

It is, however, possible to pay cash into your onboard account as soon as you board.

I thought you could "gift" onboard credit, so you could gift yourself some.  Not sure why you would want to do so, though.

Yes you can.  My mother has done this for us when we have had an anniversary aboard.  I think that you can only do it over the phone though.  Then you will have a card in the cabin that you have to sign and return to reception.
