Sometimes they’ll reject the request if the entire account ID is blacked out.  They’ll request the last 4 digits be shown.

Interesting.  I've not had that happen yet, but good to know for the next time.  They should make that clear when filling out the form, or "how to submit" information.

While we had traded CCL briefly in the past (at a profit) and took advantage of shareholder credit, I would think long and hard about engaging in a trade to 'save' a few hundred dollars here. Cruising has become a very troubled industry and CCL debt has expanded to 33B with many more shares outstanding. With fuel prices skyrocketing and other headwinds one could lose their 'credit' in a day.

In your case the need to open an account to trade adds time and difficulty to the process.

There is no form necessary

You just tell them your name booking number, cabin etc

Definitely black out your account number

We have many 8nvestments

We don't have Carnival stock to make money

We have it for the obc which has been worth while over the years

We only have the 100 shares to get that

I wouldn't buy more

There have been reports of requests being delayed/rejected if the whole account number is Blacked out.  They’ve requested the last 4 digits be visible.  (Not sure if this is policy, or limited Princess employees requesting it)

According to the CCL Shareholder Benenit document the  account ID should be blacked out.

We've been doing this reporting for many years and have always blacked out our account number

My name shows but not the account number

I have not seen any reports requiring the last 4 digits

Here’s one of the reports of this happening.  I’ve seen a couple of others.   This one could be because of the way the poster had to send in the info (two pages, with name on one page and shares in another).  As I mentioned, didn’t know if this was something they’ve implemented, or just isolated occurrences.

We opened a Fidelity account (https://www.fidelity.com/). There are no fees (so far). We deposited enough to purchase 100 shares, plus a little extra to start with. It did take a few days for the account setup and funds deposit. Additionally, it seems that Princess is taking up to 21 days to process shareholder benefits, but some have said that they have been able to call after submitting and get it processed faster or they suggest taking your statement with you on board and take it to the guest relations desk if it had not been applied prior to sailing (questionable if that works all the time).

Thanks so much. I was able to open a Fidelity account last week along with buying 100 shares of CCL. I emailed over the info to Princess and by Friday evening I had my $100 OBC. It only took a two days to get it

I really like Charles Schwab. Their debit card charges no foreign transaction fee and reimburses for foreign ATM fees. Stick a few thousand extra in there and it is a great way to fund your trip. Maximum daily withdrawal is $1,000, which is plenty for me.
