Hi everybody , we will be joining azura next Friday 18/2/2022 in Barbados ( assuming we are clear from our covid tests results ) and was just fishing for any information that was available from anybody that is currently , or have been on azura in the last few weeks. I was wondering if there been any covid outbreaks on board , if so was this relayed to all passengers onboard  , once in the carribean do you have to take any more covid tests , have any passengers been ejected from the ship because of covid  , what if any restrictions are there on board , is the theatre running at full capacity , can you take drinks into the theatre , have any of the islands refused azura entry , is the close contact policy being used by p&o , what has the entertainment been like ? Sorry for all the questions , but just trying to get a feel for what we are in for once on board. Any information would be greatly appreciated

We were on Azura for 28 nights over Christmas and New Year. The ship was only about a third full. You ask so many questions but I can help with some. A lot of cabins at the back were partitioned off for quarantine purposes. Yes some did get COVID towards the end of the trip. News of this was by word of mouth between guests, not by formal announcement. Mind you the Captain hardly ever addressed the passengers unless it was to admonish people for various things like flushing stuff down the loos or not wearing face masks in the theatre. He even treated us to a lecture (whilst we were having our Christmas dinner) on how to evacuate the ship. Putting all this aside, we really enjoyed the cruise. Apart from the Captain, the crew were excellent and we thought the food had really improved. Access to ports varied. In Dominica, you could not progress on foot further than the end of the pier but you could go on a ship’s trip. Guadeloupe, Martinique and Grand Turk were axed from the trip but we were advised about this before leaving home. St Kitts asked that you took your passport with you but they never bothered to look at them. If you are going there, the cheapest beer is at the bar on the right hand side after you get out of the cruise terminal. $1 a bottle. Sorry we didn’t use the theatre but various acts were on in other bars, usually playing to no customers which was a shame. Basically, we enjoyed the weather, the food, the lack of crowds and queues and no kids. It was all very civilised!! Cunard ship Queen Vic was parked in Barbados acting as a quarantine ship and general run around for Carnival ships.

enjoy it all!!
