Monte Carlo to London - a couple of questions

Hello fellow Regent travelers!  Like everyone else on this board we are so excited to take our first cruise in a couple of years (yes, we too had several cancelled) on the Splendor in early May.  I'd like input on a couple of things:  we're supposed to stay at the Fairmont in Monte Carlo for the pre-cruise overnight stay.  Has anyone stayed there as part of Regent and if so, do we get a sea view room?

We also have about 2 days in Bordeaux.  We are interested in scheduling a private wine tasting tour but right now I'm challenged finding a tour company that looks dependable.  If anyone has any suggestions we would love to hear from you.

Finally, I'm not sure how long this particular cruise has been offered so if anyone has any other feedback regarding tours or "must do" please share!

Merci!

Hi nw

First of all, there is a Roll Call for this cruise, you should come there and ask your questions...

I have been waiting to hear back from a "Bordeaux" tour guy about "lifting restrictions", hopefully will hear in next few weeks, if you join in Roll call, I will find you and let you know

We used Cellar Tours ( https://www.cellartours.com/ )  for a wine tour in Spain a few years ago and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.  They cover Bordeaux as well as most of France and all European wine regions.  Genevieve McCarthy is the director and took great care of us.  Everything was on our tour was perfect --

The Fairmont rooms facing the sea maybe very noisy with land reclamation taking place on the sea front. The rooms at the back give a very pleasant view of the casino. A great walk from the Fairmont is to the Japanese gardens not too far away. You should see your ship moored on the quay opposite the hotel when you have a drink at the bar.
Enjoy your stay in Monte Carlo.

As far as Bordeaux, we were there 2 days as well.  Now, mind you, this is pre-covid, so may not still be an option.  We took the train to St. Emelion, went to the wine museum there and were able to book a private tour and tasting that started at the museum and went to a couple of vineyards.  Also had a wonderful lunch there.
