Cab vs golf cart

Planning to go to Mahuhual (sp?) and hit the beaches, shops, food, snorkeling, massage. I have been ther 10 yrs ago and I know a lot has changed. Is it worth getting a golf cart? Anywhere else to go in one? Took a cab previously and just walked once there. Seems like much else would be too far to go in a golf cart?

Personally, I wouldn’t bother with a golf cart since the malecon is pedestrian only and you would have to park a street back.

People used to use them to go to some out of town bars down the dirt road beyond the malecon but I don’t know how many are open now. I think others may have ridden round the casitas in  New Mahahual.

I would just taxi to and from, although fare has gone up to $4 pp which is ridiculous and may influence your decision if you are a group. I don’t know how much golf cart rentals are but they are available at the same area as the taxi stand.

You also have a long hot dusty non scenic golf cart ride to even get to Mahahual and the malecon.  For the relativley cheap price of a taxi and ample availability, take the taxi.

Thank you. I agree about getting there. Just wasnt sure if there was anywhere else to go via golf carts.

Contrary to what others have said, I much prefer getting the golf cart. It allows us to do whatever we please when we so choose. They run ~$60 for the entire day.

It would be helpful to others if you would share with us where you have found to go.
