Smartguide app for excursions

For anyone who has cruised lately- is the Smartguide  app being used for listening to tour guide’s commentary on excursions?

If so, how has it been working out?

Am currently on the Explorer and asked specifically if app would be used on tour today and excursion people said it was not being used for any tours on this cruise. (And at least for tour today, there were only 14 people so wouldn’t have been necessary anyway. But I was ready if needed! 😀)
