Can you take a taxi to Tortuga Beach?

I am guessing the reason you're not getting an answer to your question may be that visitors to GC are most/only familiar with Rum Point Beach and Seven Mile Beach.

I’ve been a frequent visitor to GC myself -cruise and land vacations- and do not recognize the beach you ask about. I am wondering do you mean the Morritt’s Tortuga which is a resort on its own quiet beach on the east end of the island? If so it is a long 45 minutes away from port so getting a taxi to there and getting one to return would be very difficult.

On the Carnival website....there is a map of the cayman island and Tortuga Beach is there on the Eastern side of the island. I was just wondering about it. I think Carnival has an excursion there.....maybe called Jungle Beach Break. I hope I'm not confusing the name of the excursion with another port.....but I know I've seen this beach on the map on Carnival's website.

If it's 45 minutes away.....I'll pass and just try Sea Grapes.

I finally found the map you were referring to on the Carnival site. Yes, that is the site I mentioned. What you see is a pre-hurricane Ivan picture of the Morritts Tortuga Timeshare Property. We are owners there. The beach is beautiful, but I promise you that it is not any prettier than Seven Mile Beach. The buildings and docks that you see in the video are no longer there thanks to Ivan, there is ongoing construction of the new buildings now. I would not recommend spending money or time to go there now. Maybe someday in the distant future when it is maybe back to its former beauty.

Thanks for the info....the excursion I mentioned was at another port.....but I knew I had seen Tortuga Beach and just wondered about it.

We want a quiet beach....we'll head somewhere on 7-mile beach. Any suggestions.
