Taxi from Miami airport area hotel to Port of Miami

Sorry for another taxi question but we haven't sailed from Miami recently.

 

We are staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Miami Airport hotel (1201 NW Le Jeune Rd, Miami, FL 33126) pre-cruise.   Is taking a taxi from this hotel to the Port of Miami a fixed rate or metered?   Just trying to get an up-to-date approximate cost.

Metered - should be about $30+

My sister quoted from the Embassy Suites Airport that UBER would be about $17 for the trip as well. That is always an option and after staying in Las Vegas where the hotel fixed rated the taxi's Uber was still cheaper. Just an option.

Yup - pull up both Uber and Lyft to see what their rate is.  If you decide to go with the cab ask the front desk to call on - they know who is reliable.

Q about Uber:   do they drop you off at the port in the same location as a taxi would?   Or do they have another area where they have to drop passengers off?

Close enough as to make very little difference.
