PurpleShamrock317 Posted March 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2022 Has anyone gone to Chinatown in Victoria? Can you walk there? Google maps says it’s only a 30 min walk from the port. Trip advisor gives it great reviews. If you have gone were you there in the evening? Were the shops open? Our ship docks from 8 pm to midnight. Thanks! PNW Traveler Posted March 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2022 Chinatown is walkable if you like a long walk. We enjoy Chinatown's shops and restaurants. It's a small area but definitely worthwhile visiting. Your 8 pm arrival, however, poses a problem. When ships visit Victoria in the evening, there are limited shops, restaurants, and tourist activities that are open. Your best bet, if you are walking into the downtown area, is to stay near the Inner Harbor and Government Street. Shops and restaurants are more likely to be open in this area. An alternative is to book an excursion through the cruise line. If you are cruising early summer to mid-summer you will still have daylight, so good for walking into town. We have found it is easy to find a taxi when choosing not to walk back to the ship. Hope this helps. Even with the late arrival. Victoria is a special place.
