Carnival Magic 8 Day Cruise Review with Photos February 26, 2022-March 6, 2022

Heading on the Magic this Sunday. Different itinerary but loving your trip report.  However as everyone stated, all the photos in the beginning aren't working.  Would love to see them if you can repost them.  

 

Any tips for the ship in general, please let me know. First time on this ship and can't wait!!!

Oh my gosh! This actually makes me feel a little better about our decision to change airlines/airports at the last minute. Glad you were able to make it too!

So sorry about the photo situation! I'll post some ship pics here for you that I posted in the beginning. Let me know if there was anything in particular you wanted to see and I'll check to see if I have it and repost some more.

 

One tip that I can share is that if you like listening to the music in the lobby and don't want to sit in the lobby itself, they have a really nice seating area overlooking the lobby on Deck 4. You can see that in this picture below:

The next day we decided to all try the Sea Day Brunch. I had hot chocolate, an egg, ham and cheese omelette and honeydew melon.

 

 

Hubby and I walked around the outer part of Deck 5 for a bit and then went back to the room. Out on our balcony I saw birds that were flying along with the ship. Hubby fell asleep and I went to the theater where I met Mom and Dad to watch a magic show with the ship's magician. He was good, but didn't get on prediction, but I think that was because the audience lady volunteer tried to "trick him" by thinking of two different things. I went back to the room to wake up hubby for the ice sculpture demo, but he was in deep sleep. I met up with Mom and watched the rest of the ice sculpture demo. They were also setting up cake for the Dr. Seuss birthday party. Mom and I saw our cruise director, Simon, dressed up for the party and we each took a picture of him. He told us to send it to him on Facebook.

I went back to the room for a little bit to wait for the crowd to disperse around the cake. Hubby left to grab a burger and come back to the room and I left for lunch shortly thereafter. I ate tacos by myself on Lido and then went back to the room with a slice of yummy marble cake. This was my favorite cake of the cruise. I liked the frosting as it was more of a fudgey frosting.

We attended the Platinum and Diamond party. I had a Screwdriver. They had the piano player from the piano bar playing at the beginning of the party. He was good.

We met up with Mom and Dad for dinner in the MDR. I danced with Edi again during Showtime. I bought Dad a filet minion from the steakhouse as a belated birthday gift. The waiters brought him out a cake and sang to him. Hubby and I watched Deal or No Deal after dinner which was pretty cool. It was something I had never seen on a ship before. They had two contestants and the audience could also play along if they had pre bought Deal or No Deal cards. The audience was focusing on getting matches. Just watching was entertaining too.

Hubby and I slept in until 8:30/9 a.m. and then had a quick breakfast on Lido before heading out to Grand Turk. They had the towel animal invasion set up on Lido which is always cool to see! We saw Dad coming back to the ship. He told us where to find Mom on the beach. We met up with Mom and she took an awesome photo of hubby and I with the ship in the background. Hubby and I then walked around the shop area. He bought a hat and a shirt and I bought seastar earrings. Which reminds me...I've unpacked and I don't know where those are!

Once back onboard, we saw the Carnival Sunshine dock next to us. I'm fascinated with seeing other ships maneuver so it was really cool to watch.

Hubby and I headed up to Lido for lunch. After I got my tacos, I looked around for hubby, but didn't see him so I just sat down. A minute later Mom found me and told me she'd send Dad to sit with me since he was just finishing. Then hubby showed up so I sat with my two favorite men. 😀 The dessert selection wasn't that great so I DIYed my dessert by putting a cookie in my soft serve ice cream. After dessert, hubby and I went up to play mini golf. Then we went back to the room where I took a shower and hubby fell asleep. I watched sailaway from the balcony.

We met up with Mom and Dad for dinner and were all bummed we didn't get table 254 which was in Edi's section. Hubby and I got second dessert on Lido after getting a new S&S card at guest services since mine was really starting to peel. Hubby got a new one near the beginning of the cruise. I guess their laminating machine or whatever wasn't working that great. We went to a variety show featuring Sideshow Bert which I really enjoyed.

 

 

 

This was called Key Lime Mousse. Not a fan. Especially the gelatin cubes. Yuck!

 

This cookie cake on Lido, however, was super delicious! Probably tied for my second favorite cake. Marble being my first and the Oreo mint being second.

I am very interested in the golf cart rental - did it seat 4?? How much was the rental for how long?

Were there restrictions on where you could drive it? (on road or off)

The golf cart that we had sat two, but on their website it did say they have 4 seaters. We paid $95 with a $100 deposit and you get the deposit back when you return it. We pre booked online which ended up being a good idea because when we went to the tent for Bonaire Cruisers they asked if I had one reserved and they had my name on the list. Some other people were waiting to see if they had any left over since they didn't pre book. We could have had it for the full day, but all we wanted to do was the South Loop and that took us just a couple hours. There was a northern part of the island, too. We were the first to return our cart to the empty lot and the guy was like, you sure you're done? They did caution us on when we pulled over to not go in parts that could puncture the tires or anything. I really enjoyed this mode of transportation. It was a fun way to see some of the island. I definitely recommend pre booking. You can do it all through email.

The last Sea Day, hubby and I decided we wanted to sleep in. Boy, did we ever! I woke up thinking it was 8:30 a.m. and it was actually 10 a.m.! We at breakfast on Lido and then hung out int the lobby for a bit. Hubby bought pre sale Bingo cards. We went up to Serenity and all the clamshells were either taken or had towels in them (annoying) so we found a Serenity bed to hang out on for a bit. We went back down to the lobby to check in for our flight since the WiFi was strong in the lobby.

We went to Lido for lunch. Hubby took a burger back to the room and I ate tacos on Lido by myself. I brought back peanut butter chocolate cake and triple chocolate cake from the Chocolate Extravaganza. We went to a Q&A with Simon, followed by Bingo. I was TWO away from winning the coverall! Back in the room I showered and read my book on the balcony for a bit.

Dinner was delicious! They had my favorite appetizer, sweet Thai chili sauce chicken tenders. I also got a second appetizer, lemon orzo soup. My main was chicken Milanese and Baked Alaska for dessert.
