Room directly above casino

We just booked a cruise and the pvp said balcony and I said ok. I didn’t check the position of the room and it turns out it is directly above the casino. Has anyone had any experience getting a room directly above casino? Does it smell like smoke? Can you hear the slot machines going off all the time?

You don’t mention what ship you’ll be on, but I do have an experience being directly above the casino on the Conquest.  At that time they had a bandstand in the casino—I don’t know whether they still do.  My room was directly above the bandstand, and the speakers were in the ceiling, which was under the floor of my cabin.  I had loud music blaring into the room until 2:00 AM every night.  It was so loud it sounded like it was right outside my door. I didn’t smell smoke or hear noise from the casino, but the music was intolerable.  It was a guarantee cabin, and I have never gone for a guarantee since.

That is awful!  These types of cabins shouldn't even be allowed on a ship! Guarantee or not, ridiculous.

I think they should offer them as “night owl” rooms at a reduced rate.  People who like to stay out late might not be bothered, but I’m more of an 11:00 bedtime person, so it did bother me a lot.

I was able to finally get someone on the phone to help me change my room number. I should have asked about the room before I gave them my credit card number. I was given a room one time directly beneath the lido. You could hear the staff dragging the loungers around a lot. It was loud. They really should have some warning on rooms like that.
