Yes, I called FBC and they were not able to upgrade the flights to Premium Economy. The only option we had at that point was to go ahead and pay for the flights so we could receive AA record locator numbers. Then we went to AA dot com and purchased our Premium Economy seats which turned out to be more expensive than if we had been able to purchase Premium Economy in the first place.

 

Now that my DW has experienced flying in Premium Economy seats, she prefers those seats!

I booked with Flight's by Celebrity for my upcoming cruise and will never do it again.  The experience has been a nightmare.  I won't go I to details but will say if I had booked on my own I would have saved money and countless hours on hold with them.

Thanks again for following up.  AA is notorious for expensive upgrades after the fact; other airlines often discount them if there's still a lot of availability
