Cozumel jeep rental

Has anyone just rented a jeep in Cozumel and went off in their own?

I saw some videos on YouTube where people did it. I'm just wondering if it's actually doable?.

We are docking in punta langosta It would be looking for someplace within walking distance.

Anyone have any referrals?

We have done this many years ago. We did this in advance with a Avis- not sure if they still do this. I would make sure it has full insurance since I have heard of some people targeting tourist. It would be terrible to miss the ship while caught up in an accident.
