I'm going out on the Edge in a few months and am wondering how much I should ear mark for playing poker in the casino. What are the blinds on their Texas Hold 'em tables?

You asking about the table game or the actual poker table?

They do have a few tournaments where the blinds are set and go up each 10 minutes.

I did not play in the regular games.

But just go with $100 and that should cover you.

I'm not thinking the blinds were crushing on the cash games.

OK...assuming you are referring to a tournament?

On Edge last summer, ONLY cash games. 1/2 blinds, $200 max buy in.

On Apex this spring we had 3 tourneys/day on sea days (1, 2:30 & 4). $60 buy in, 10 players max. We showed up at 9AM when casino opened to ensure we got seats. The blinds are INCREDIBLY fast. 10 min. Starts at 100/200 & basically doubles each time.

Cash games were all over the place. First they said it was 2/5 (WHAT? even in Vegas those are the minority). $200 buy in max..then it was $300, then $500. Got a bit rich for my blood. (may as well have been 2/5, was playing like 4/8...)

What? I'm not talking about 3 Card Poker or Black Jack. I said Texas Hold 'Em

I'm not. I mean a regular table. Does Celebrity not play Texas Hold 'Em regularly? That would be very disappointing.

Yes, I mentioned the TX Hold Em cash game specifics above.

On Edge (no tourneys) cash games got going every night.

On Apex, it took a few nights...then it took off!

They have an Ultimate Texas table. Think that’s why you were asked a table or actual game. They do have tournaments occasionally, but not everyday real games. On our last cruise there weren’t even any tournaments.

The endless bastardization of games casinos will come up with part people from their money will never cease to amaze me.

I did great on the table on our last cruise. I much prefer this over a “real” game. Those are overwhelming for me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is indeed why I asked. My last celebrity cruise never got a cash game going, but the Ultimate game was hopping the entire time. The Ultimate Texas Hold Em table game has a fairly decent house advantage, especially when you consider the he Celebrity has terrible rules on BJ and requires at least $50 a hand to get a 3-2 payout.
