itzfitz Posted April 13, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2022 We have a FCC from a cruise we had to cancel due to Covid infections. My question is if the new cruise is almost the same price as the cancelled one, why would we have to put down an additional $1500 to reserve our stateroom? That is what my TA is telling me and it doesn't sound right. Also, what perks have your TA's offered when booking an Oceania cruise? Thanks for your replies. CintiPam Posted April 14, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2022 We did not have to put any new money down to book a cruise that cost a bit less than the amount of our FCC.
Rare pinotlover Posted April 14, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2022 OP didn’t specify which cruises are affected. Not all cruises are created equal. As an example,Oceania may offer a 17 day single cruise for which only the standard down payment is required. However, one must read closely. Is a different 17 day cruise actually an extended voyage that consists of 7 & 10 day legs? The latter may show as a single cruise, but in O’s eyes it requires a double down payment, one for each leg. This is a 10 day Caribbean cruise next January. The price difference is under $1000 total.
