Jeaannie55 Posted April 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2022 Hi, I am sailing next weekend out of U.K. on Valiant Lady, I am the only one in our party that likes a particular wine, can anybody tell me if I order a bottle of said wine and what I don’t drink on that evening, they will keep the remainder for the next days evening meal? I usually sail with Celebrity and they do this, but thinking maybe Virgin might be different as they don’t have main dining room. TIA
jon81uk Posted April 20, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2022 Don’t know if they will keep it as you will be in a different restaurant but might be able to take it back to your room, may need to be able to prove it was bought onboard to avoid corkage charges the next night. when my partner and I had a meal at The Wake we didn’t finish out bottle of wine but they gave us plastic cups so we could take it to another venue. But at other meals we just ordered by the glass anyway.
Jeaannie55 Posted April 20, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted April 20, 2022 Thank you, might have to rethink my choice of beverage
drewdawg199 Posted April 21, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2022 there are plenty of reasonably priced wines by the glass, wouldn't worry about it either way.

Although when we were on Valiant Lady to Zeebrugge on the maiden voyage they didn’t seem to have all of the wine options anyway.
Quacks the Cruiser Posted April 21, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 21, 2022 What is this thing of an unfinished bottle of wine of which you speak?! 🍷 QTK 4
RD64 Posted April 22, 2022 #7 Share Posted April 22, 2022 I agree with Quacks - an unfinished bottle of wine???
tde1969 Posted April 23, 2022 #8 Share Posted April 23, 2022 The fridge in the room will easily hold a bottle or two. I would pour a glass on my way to dinner and then I had it while we looked at menu and ordered.
Jeaannie55 Posted April 24, 2022 Author #9 Share Posted April 24, 2022 Thank you all, Tde 1969 that’s very good advice, might just do that!
westguy99 Posted April 24, 2022 #10 Share Posted April 24, 2022 You can take a drink or bottle of wine anywhere you like after purchase. Back to your room or to a different area of the ship.
Rare CruisingWalter Posted May 8, 2022 #11 Share Posted May 8, 2022 Thanks for asking this as I was wondering the same thing. We've had both Princess and Celebrity hold bottles of wine for us and bring them to either the MDR or restaurant on another evening.
