COVID coverage if no quarantine required

The UK no longer requires quarantine if you test positive for COVID. Are there any policies that will still cover trip cancellation/interruption if the cruise ship denies boarding or removes you from your ship?

If the cruise line denies boarding for a positive test, that would be considered a medical reason for cancellation. You’d have to have a doctor’s confirmation of diagnosis and orders not to travel. That is a separate issue from quarantine.

 

If you are denied boarding or disembarked in a country that does not require quarantine, you still have to test negative in order to board a flight to the US. Most likely that is still considered trip interruption and/or trip delay whether or not you are confined because the medical condition kept you from completing your trip.
