cleobella Posted May 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2022 I am looking at fares for taxis from Fiumicino Airpport in Rome to our Rome Centre Hotel and also from the Hotel to Civitavecchia Port. It seems like grabbing a taxi at the airport, and calling a taxi from the hotel to go to port, would be cheaper then a booked transfer with a tour company or transfer service. Does anyone know if there's any reason why using local taxi's would be a bad idea?
euro cruiser Posted May 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2022 There is a fixed fare for taxis from FCO airport to locations within the Aurelian walls of Rome, that fare is currently 50 euro. Most car services will quote around the same amount or slightly higher.

That would be a big no-no. much too expensive to use a regular metered taxi. Book at shared transfer or a private transfer with the many companies mentioned here. We have used Stefano's Rome Cabs and they are excellent. Another option is to go the the Roll Call for your cruise on Cruise Critic https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/20-roll-calls/ and see if you can share a transfer with others going to your ship.
