You can see the Virgin Voyages beach club from the ship. It's the first little point that sticks out in the picture. I'm going to be walking in the opposite direction, heading South. On the other side, I can see all the way to the end of the island, which is less than I walk on a daily basis.

Still cloudy out, and I think that I can see some rain off in the distance. Not very warm here either. Not as warm as you'd expect, anyway. I'm sure that it'll be hot soon enough.

A lot more people starting to head out now. The best beach chairs go early. I don't really care about a good spot, just somewhere to drop my fancy beach bag. (Publix plastic bag)

A few ant bites aside, I'm back from my first little adventure of the day. I left the ship, and opted to walk down the long pier, and then took a right, down towards the little town. My goal this morning was to aquire what's purported to be the best conch salad in all the Bahamas.

A few from my initial walk. There are no sidewalks here, so you have to pay attention to traffic. Keep in mind, they drive on the wrong side of the road here, so you need to be conscious of that.

You might say that the food preparation standards here are a little more lax than other places. Still, I walked two miles for this, and I wasn't turning back without eating some of it.

Once they finally opened, I placed my order for a conch salad, conch fritters, and a local beer. The salad came out first, and they prepare every order right there on the counter. Fresh chopped conch, tomato, onion, bell pepper, and fresh lime...

It was unbelievable. I mean, it was tender and flavorful, and had just the right amount of everything. This conch was living in the ocean when I woke up this morning, and now it's on my plate... Next, the fritters came out, and they were the best I've ever had...
