Bologna to Ravenna

If anyone is flying in to Bologna [for a 'Venice' cruise now starting in Ravenna], an article in yesterday's Wall Street Journal about less-known interesting spots mentions Ferrara and Comacchio, which would fit in a 2-hour loop from Bologna airport to Ravenna.  Ferrara has a Renaissance legacy from the D'Este family, a castle, and a local specialty Cappellacci di zucca (pumpkin-filled ravioli).  Comacchio has a network of canals "much smaller but no less picturesque than Venice's."
