Day 5

It about 1PM now … hopped off the bus at 10AM and never got back on again because the bus is not that frequent.  I waited at at a bus stop near Jameson but it does not show any bus near me to take me back to town or to the shuttle back to the cruise port.  The hop on and off really did not work well.  If you hop off at any one of the stops for a quick look around you won’t be able to hop back on until 40 minutes later so if you want to visit Guinness you really don’t have much time left to see other sights if you want to catch the 2:30 PM shuttle back.  I ended up walking back to the meeting point because at least it will give me a chance to see Dublin a little bit!

Day 5

Dublin

So basically I used the Hop on Hop Off as a shuttle service to Dublin and back.  I did get half a circle tour of the city early on.  My advice AVOID this!  Take the train at the cruise port into town and walk or taxi to Guinness and when you are ready taxi back to the train.  60 minutes each way about $3.00 each way.  Hop on Hop Off was a waste of time and money!

This stop Dun L. for Dublin, Tender stop.

The dart is the best option if going to Dublin stop near the tender  drop off point.

Regular, quicker than coach options and €5 return.

If staying in the tender town some good pubs for a mini crawl cheaper than Dublin.

For cheap beer The forty Foot.

Well that was a "boozy" morning. What with that and your gigantic snack you're going to need a nice nap now to recover! 😆

Nah… I went to the gym to work off some calories so I have room for dinner tonight!

I agree with you 1000000% and will not be doing another ship excursion next time I am in Dublin… it will be straight to the Distillery I go via train 😂

A man after my own heart... 🏋️‍♀️🏃‍♀️

But... pictures or it didn't happen! 😆

Seriously, though, as a runner, I go to the gym every day when I cruise (while my couch potato DH soaks in the hot tub). How does the gym on Dawn compare to any you've been to on Royal's ships?

Royal’s Gym Rules!!  😝  I was just on the adventure of the seas and I thought their equipment was old until I got on here.

The gym in here is nice but the equipment is old.  The central air is not working in the cardio section so it is very warm so you have to prop the door open to get fresh chilly air in to circulate the gym.  It’s not ideal but I make do!  Got to hit the gym to make room for dinner 😂
