ArriveCAN question UK travellers

Hi

 

We are due to board Konigsdam on 18th June and I’m not sure if we need to complete another ArriveCAN before we board the ship. We arrived in Canada on the 8th June so completed one before entry to the country. I have seen various comments about completing one before boarding but surely, as we are boarding in Canada and will have been in the country for 10 days we shouldn’t need to complete another. I understand one may be required to re-enter Canada at the end of the cruise.

Yes, you do. Everyone needs to do it within 72 hours of embarkation (including Canadians). It doesn't matter where you are from

 

From the HAL web site:

 

BEFORE CRUISING
ArriveCAN
Within 72 hours of your cruise embarkation, sign into
ArriveCAN from a computer or download the mobile app
to enter proof of vaccination and travel information. Please
bring a digital copy of the email or print your receipt. Guests
not from Canada who are starting their cruise in Canada will
need to complete ArriveCAN 72 hours before arrival and
fill it out again within 72 hours of embarkation. Canadian
guests will need to complete ArriveCAN within 72 hours
of embarkation.

Thank you. What would be the port of entry, Vancouver? It’s a round trip cruise departing and arriving in Vancouver. Also do I put our departure date as date of arrival. This is very confusing or maybe it’s just me 😂

My understanding is:

 

If your cruise is not stopping in Victoria before returning to Vancouver then your port of entry is Vancouver; otherwise, it's Victoria.

 

Country of original departure is Canada.

 

Date of embarkation is the start date of your cruise.

 

Date of arrival is the date you are entering your first Canadian port. If your cruise does not stop in Victoria, then it would be the last date of your cruise (the day you get back to Vancouver); otherwise, it's the date you stop in Victoria.

Your port of entry will always be the first Canadian port that you visit after leaving and then returning to Canada. For the cruise in question, the only Canadian port after visiting the US is Vancouver, and that is your port of entry.
