skiptomylou Posted June 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2022 I am signed up for this tour via Zodiak to go around around Storstappen Island and then bus up to the North Cape (northern Norway) this July. Has anyone been on this tour (its about 5 hours)...the ship drops you off and you rendezvous back with the ship at Honningsvag. Anyone with some personal experience they can share is appreciated. cruisr Posted June 11, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2022 Check to be sure your sailing is not one of the ones cancelled as the ship is once again delayed. You may be on the new maiden voyage.

whystayhome Posted June 20, 2022 #4 Share Posted June 20, 2022 Hi. I am doing that one, too, and am expecting great things. We did a lot of zodiac tours in Antarctica and they were spectacular. See you on board. Linda
Rare highplanesdrifters Posted June 20, 2022 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2022 Storstrappen is a tough spot to transfer to Zodiacs. Ours was canceled as many are. The scenery from the zodiac will be stunning. Dramatic cliffs and inlets. Will you have a landing to see the Puffins and other Seabirds? The land scenery is mostly foggy, hilly tundra dotted with reindeer. Very cool. In Honnsviag, if you can, grab a private taxi to Nordkap museum to beat the bus crowds. Book in advance there are not many. It is wonderful. Nordkap might be included on your bus portion if the zodiac trip goes. There is a Crab restaurant in Honnisvaig that will beat any crab tour the ship offers. King Crab House Brasserie is a short walk from the dock. You might miss the cultural experience of eating crab on a bench in a crowded smokey teepee hut though. 😃 Either way it will be fabulous.
Rare Fletcher Posted June 20, 2022 #6 Share Posted June 20, 2022 (edited) We watched the Storstrappen zodiac tours set off from the decks of the Ovation. Unpleasant weather and there were no birds to be seen, apparently. We did the bus trip up to the North Cape and had miraculous weather. We saw reindeer on the way and the scenery is quite interesting. There is a dull visitor centre at the end of the road, a globe sculpture and another one with children. You can see all there is to see in about half an hour and we stayed there for maybe two hours. And it's not the most northerly point in Europe. I did a whole blog about this trip . . . https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2581947-ship-to-shore-the-ovation-in-norway/ Edited June 20, 2022 by Fletcher
