betsy918 Posted June 17, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2022 (edited) Can anyone tell me if the neighboring mini suite balconies can be opened up? A friend has decided to join me and book the neighboring mini suite to mine. It would be wonderful if we could create one big balcony while sailing! skynight Posted June 17, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2022 For the most cabins yes. Just ask the cabin steward to open up the connecting balcony door. Somethings to be aware of: Bring something like a tie to fasten the open door to the eye hook. The ship is old and the latch may not hold all the time. The connecting door is only about 2 feet wide allowing you to pass between. The door does not open to provide one large balcony. The balcony is 9ft wide x 6 ft deep.
dreaminofcruisin Posted June 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2022 I have not been on the Diamond Princess, so I am not certain. However, on most of the Princess ships, you do have to be cautious if you book a cabin near a fire door. Some of those balconies DO NOT have a door that opens between them. You can see the fire doors on the Ship Layout on the Princess website.
