Renting Carts?

Can't find it now, but read that you can rent a golf cart in Costa Maya and just drive yourself exploring.  Who has done this?  I'm interested.

We drove on the Malecon as were others. No one said anything.

You aren't supposed to drive on the Malencon. Many get by with it but if you are one of the ones who doesn't, how would you like to spend the night in a Mexican jail?
