Regent hotels Tokyo and Hong Kong

Not the poshest hotel in HK but a good location and, if the ship is docked in Kowloon, very handy to have a short walk to the cruise check-in (with the hotel concierge taking the luggage for us 🙂)

 

This is definitely the most convenient pre-/post-cruise hotel, if the ship docks at Ocean Terminal in the city centre (but not the further away Kai Tak Cruise Terminal). It directly connects with the shopping mall and cruise terminal, so you can easily access between these places without going outdoor in inclement weather.

In 2015 we stayed at the Hotel Icon in Kowloon. Simply amazing food and service and very large suites (60 sq.m.) It's still there.

We are hoping we make it to HongKong. Another Regent cruiser has posted that they have had the Chinese segments for their March 23 cruise cancelled. One of the main reasons to visit the Far East was HK 😢

Sadly, HK is not now what it once was.

It has looked more and more restricted over the last few years but we had hoped there may still have been some of the HK 'sparkle' left but maybe we have left it too late?

We have stayed in a Continental Club room at the Marco Polo Hong Kong hotel prior to a cruise and can highly recommend staying there.  We not only had a great view of the harbor from our room but had a direct view of our ship when it docked there.  As people have already said, an easy walk to the ship with the hotel staff taking your luggage.
