Here’s where it gets really crowded… there are lots of steps and a climb to the top…

And you went early to avoid the crowds! It's just way too many people 😕. 

I first visited the acropolis 40+ years ago and there was hardly anyone there. When I returned in 2009 it was mobbed. I was so shocked.

Hope you wore a good pair of tennies and a hat on your walk/climb.  Looked exhausting.  
 

Amazing what the Greeks could build without modern machinery.

I was told the line was nothing when I went… the north side entrance was much worse.

I did have proper shoes for this adventure… of course it got very dirty / dusty afterwards as my legs were also covered in dust.  Having a water bottle was very important when it’s hot.

From Moxy Athens it’s a metro ride away.  M1 to Piraeous for a low low price of 1.20E. I am very happy with where I am located.

This is where things got interesting 

 

When I presented my paper work I was told that NCL is not accepting EMED test results and they were just informed that.  They are offering a complimentary test through EuroFins… I was like what?????  So I went to the tent and started my registration process and I said to the administrator I already been tested 48 hours prior with EMED why won’t they accept the result?  She then said what?  She never heard of that before so she called the port manager over and I showed him my result and he verified the date and time and then said he is going to go investigate… 10 minutes later he came back and said the result is fine you are good to go and gave me a pink bracelet and let me out of the tent to check in.  No explanation.. nothings except so sorry for the wait and confusion???  There were quite a few adults in the tent waiting to test so I wonder if they just accepted what they were told and got tested?  Totally not sure what is going on and I checked the website too it said nothing about not accepting EMED.  In the end it was sorted out and they let me through with my test results but huh?
