Coates55 Posted July 28, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2022 Looking at a June 2023 QE cruise to Alaska from Vancouver. May well fly into Seattle and am curious to know if anyone on this year's Alaska cruises can confirm if Cunard were operating transfers to/from Seattle airport to the Vancouver cruise terminal? Most of the US based cruise lines do ( e.g Princess etc) but am curious to know if it is likely Cunard would do the same. Many thanks in advance for any input to this matter. LB_NJ Posted July 31, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2022 Would you point to a source for the US cruise lines offering transfers? It is about a 3 hour drive not including the time at the border crossing and customs. Not completely unrelated, I am thinking about the 12 day 2023 cruise and was wondering it the do the inside passage? Can't seem to find out for sure. Coates55 Posted August 1, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted August 1, 2022 LB_NJ, My knowledge of transfers from Seattle Airport to Vancouver comes from a cruise we did ages ago on HAL. Indeed the journey between the two locations is not too far but a cruise line transfer will be cheaper and less hassle than a one way car hire journey. There are also bus option between Seattle and Vancouver. Given the size of the Queen Elizabeth, the journey up to Alaska should indeed include the Inside Passage transit at least on the Northbound leg. This typically involves routing via the Seymour Narrows between Vancouver Island and the mainland. The large mega ships are too large for some of the narrow points in the journey hence they need to take an "outside" passage route.
LB_NJ Posted August 3, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2022 I happened to call Cunard about another issue and asked about transfers and they said not at this time. Might change in the future.
