After buying the Premium Drink Package, am I to believe that a tip of 15% of the drink cost will be added to my cruise tab?

Only if you buy it onboard.  You avoid the surcharge by doing it online, just like the other add-ons available.

I think you're asking if you'll still pay 15% gratuity on any drink orders, even though you have the package in place. MSC doesn't levy the 15% service charge on drinks which fall within the bounds of a drinks package, whether you buy it onboard or not. However, if you buy the package itself onboard, you'll pay the 15% surcharge on the package cost as a one-time cost.
