BarbieGee Posted August 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2022 I was reading a 'cruise tips' for the CCL and as of 3 years ago, cruisers were allowed to bring up to 6 canned non alcoholic drinks on board. (Canned soda, carton of milk, boxed juices, CANNED water -- NO glass or plastic) Is this still in effect? Wonder if I could bring a cooler jug of water? 😏
mz-s Posted August 20, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2022 What is Carnival's Liquor & Beverage Policy? Drinking Alcohol On Board The minimum age for the purchase and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages in the bars, lounges and gift shops is 21 years of age. Carnival reserves the right to request ID prior to the purchase of alcohol and refuse the sale of alcohol to anyone. Guests will be limited to purchasing a maximum of 15 alcoholic beverages, per person, per day while on board. Bringing Liquor and Beverages On Board - Embarkation Guests are prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages that are packaged in glass or plastic bottles. On embarkation day, a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, energy drinks, juice, and milk), packaged in cans or cartons, may be brought on board and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12-ounces/354-ml each or less, per person. Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board with the following exception - at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day only, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring one 750-ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne, per person, in their carry-on luggage. Outside this exception, all liquor, beer, other forms of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited in both carry-on and checked luggage and such items will be confiscated and discarded and no compensation will be provided. Guests sailing with us on back-to-back cruises are entitled to bring the same quantity as stated in this policy, per cruise. The additional quantities will be stored for safekeeping at the start of the first cruise and will be given to the guest as each following cruise begins. 2

I would not spend the time to hide beer. They def looked in there. I would much rather sneak rum in a hidden shampoo bottle or some other container. We had purchased cheers, so.... Do like my coke zero, thus the case.
mz-s Posted August 20, 2022 #8 Share Posted August 20, 2022 I bring on a large thermos (Fizzonator from Sheetz) that I fill up on Lido with ice water, or if need be I ask at the bars for a fill up with water and ice. I try to drink at least a gallon of water a day, and this helps me stay on track on vacation as well. They've never said a thing about my thermos during embarkation. However, it is empty at that point obviously.

Probably more so when drinking as soda instead of mixer. After a few drinks, cannot tell the difference. I know some say there is no difference either way. Carnival agents in ther are absolutely the most ridiculous among every port and cruiseline I've ever embarked. I (legally) brought a bottle of wine aboard. They cut off the plastic wrapper around the cork and neck and were examining it with a flashlight, determined to find that I had filled it with something else, recorked it, and resealed it in plastic🙄

At least sometimes they do - it's a crapshoot I guess.
