What options are available for lunch on Embarkation Day other than buffet? (non Yacht Club)

 

Where can we get our lanyard punched?

No other options unfortunately unless the specialty dining (for fee) restaurants are open (which they usually aren't). 

 

Also, I have never seen anyone with a punched lanyard as is more common on the US Mass Market cruise lines. This is an Italian cruise line; it's doubtful that you would see an Italian walking around with a key card on a lanyard 🙂

MSC has standard punched keycard since 2020. I've sailed 2020 and 2021 and all cards are punched.

Can I assume you are asking about this for a US cruise (when she comes to Port Canaveral in October)?  If so, I would say that the MDR option would not be available on Embarkation day.  I would say you only have the buffet, and possibly the bar food options (for a fee) in the Sports Bar.  Lanyard question has already been answered.
