Malta accommodation recommendations please

Hello. We've got 4 nights here post-cruise. Have never been there before. Thinking we should stay in the Valetta area. Would love for any recommendation for accommodation (and if so, why.. what's nearby etc). It will be June, so very hot and must have a pool. Thank you!!

Look for a hotel in Sliema, which is the town opposite of Valetta on a small bay.

Valetta itself is basically dead at night.

From Sliema you can reach Valetta by bus in 15 minutes and you have a broad choice of hotels, restaurants etc.
