SoDakPirate Posted September 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2022 I am considering a BTB on the Orion in March-April 2023. On March 18th it is doing Secrets of Southeast Asia departing Bali and arriving in Singapore on April 1st. I cannot find where is goes from April 1 -15. On the 15th it leaves Hong Kong and heads to Vancouver. Any thoughts? Thank you
Rare WNcruiser Posted September 4, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2022 With a 2 week gap I would guess a charter or dry dock. Orion will be 5 years old in 2023 so that would fit the time line for a dry dock. Not sure why it wouldn’t leave from Singapore again though 🤔

Thank you Singapore shipyards have extensive drydocks and are often used by the Cruise Lines, so based on the age of the ship, I suspect she is heading to drydock for her 1st Special Survey. Probably about 9 or 10 days in the shipyard, with another 3 to 4 days steaming, depending on speed, to cover the almost 1,400 n/miles to HK. Doesn't leave any additional time for another cruise, so the ship will probably deadhead up to HK.
